Compare the civil law approach and common law approach to dealing with breaches or violations of people’s data privacy. Use countries such as the UK or the U.S. for common law and use EU countries for civil law.

You can mention rule of law in terms of privacy rights – civil countries, judges only interpret fixed statutes. 

Common law, relies on equity and judgments, rule of law is developmental, hence principles of data protection develop and influence the environment can also be mentioned.
