You are required to discuss 8 of the following 15 roles of the business analyst. Your frame of reference can be a current or former organisation that you have worked for or an organisation that you are familiar with. You are required to address 8 of the following roles.

You should describe the work activities associated with the various roles including the tools, techniques and competencies that business analysts use. You should discuss these roles in light of how existing literature portrays the role of the business analyst, the significance of those roles, and analyse the challenges for business analysts as they carry out those roles.

Guidelines for your Report Layout
Your report should be presented in a structured format with adequate cited evidence from literature sources (journal articles, refereed conference proceedings and academic books). The evaluation criteria for this assignment are as follows:
1. Presentation and Report format (20%)
Your report should be structured with an introduction, body and conclusion. You will receive marks for the layout, clarity of presentation and logical structure.
2. Evidence and arguments (60%)
This section should include a clear statement of issues, and your discussion should use evidence from literature to support your views. You will receive marks for the flow of logical arguments, and validity of recommendations and conclusions you make.
3. Reference and citation (20%)
Your selection of references, correct bibliographic format and adequate citation of references are important for this portion of the marks. You must specify any references that you have used using the recommended Swinburne referencing system which can be found at the following site:
