The collaboration commitment for many NEU schools  has five areas of focus that make up the collaboration commitment and their are: Clarity of Purpose, Respectful of time, Time Banking, Professional Growth, and Building Candid Professional Relationships: (Lopez, D., 2013).  My viewpoint has of collaboration has change after reading these commitment,  the job that I have  teacher staff try to  work together as a team but not always sometime I work alone  and get the work done. I want to try to work with my teacher team because working to together as a team the work is done in timely manners.  What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own professional setting? How would it benefit your team to establish similar commitment. In my own professional setting as a food serve worker, I plan to take levels one: supporting, giving my team more support when ask, Level two: Accountability, offered my support to my team. I will use the example of my Head start program.   In our school we have a site supervisors as well as a lead teacher in every classroom, I do believe that we are “V” pattern we fly to keep our kids going and we keep them busy at all time. My strengths is been a team player. As a person and an educator, I️ was always one to work alone on any assignments that I️ had. Somewhat like Julie in chapter 6. I️ see how that I️t is necessary to open the door for communication. I️ am willing to my colleague offer their support. Some things are just not meant to be done alone.  What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own professional setting? How would it benefit your team to establish similar commitments? In order for me to grow an educator, I️ plan to take on the 4 levels of Candid Collaboration. This can be matched to the saying “no man is an island” which means that a person cannot achieve their full potential without the input of others. The commitments have served as a source of enlightenment since working as a team alone is not important rather working as a team with defined objectives. The team needs to understand the purpose for which the work is being done. Collaboration also proves fruitful when the team members show time management skills in their undertakings with the team (Hess, & Robbins, 2012). They should be able to complete tasks on time. The five areas allow me to understand that collaboration becomes fruitful when the members can maintain respectful relationships with each other creating an environment of support that will, in turn, lead to positive growth in the team. Members of the team should also be focused on professional development taking time to learn new things (Robin, & Burchell, 2013). What ideas do you have for implementing these in your own professional setting? How would it benefit your team to establish similar commitments? The first step would be to hold team meetings with the agenda of knowing one another. This will enable the members to openly communicate and therefore understand the strengths and weaknesses of the other members(Robin, & Burchell, 2013). Once this has been established, we can easily capitalize on individual strengths hence strengthening the whole team as a whole (Hess, & Robbins, 2012). The team should set up goals, both short-term, and long-term, which can be used as a basis for evaluating the progress that is being made. The challenge that we mostly face is the fact that different members have different goals and priorities when it comes to the work of the team. While some might be ready to work, others might be unconcerned by the task at hand. This causes work to proceed slowly, and very little progress can be made. What are your strengths as a team member; what are your weaknesses? As a team member, I would consider my flexibility and ability to switch between tasks quickly as my strength. It comes with the willingness and readiness to work and learn new things. However, I am unable to express the necessary leadership skills required from a team leader.
