Discuss the evolution of modern society through the first century of its development, from the inception of the constitution through the civil war and reconstruction. Write about the following five topics, and describe how US society changed and how the lives of individual people were altered. Explain how this reflects the evolution toward the modern society in which we live today. 1. Early English settlers and wanting religious tolerance. 2. Salutary neglect and how that effected the colonists 3. Taxation and representation from the Parliament following salutary neglect, and how the colonists handled it. 4. The start of the revolutionary war. 5. The Constitution and how it came to be.
